Advanced MRI & CT of Escondido Announces Radiology Services Agreement
with Dr. Kathleen Flores of the North County Radiology Medical Group
ESCONDIDO, Calif. - April 4, 2005 - Advanced MRI & CT of Escondido announces an agreement with veteran radiologist Dr. Kathleen Flores of the North County Radiology Medical Group to serve as medical director of their Escondido-based magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) center.
Dr. Flores and the North County Radiology(NCR) will work with Advanced MRI to provide MRI and CT/radiology services to North County residents. Since joining NCR in 2000, Dr. Flores has been highly respected for her ability to accurately read MR studies. "I feel one of my strongest attributes is the ability to produce an accurate, well organized report that answers the clinical questions as decisively as possible," explains Dr. Flores.
Established in December 2003, Advanced MRI of Escondido has quickly built a name for itself in the North County medical community, working closely with patients and physicians to provide the most effective MRI care available. The center is using the latest General Electric (GE) 1.5 Tesla LX (high field, short bore) system. GE has been the industry leader for over 20 years developing more patient-friendly MRI systems that produce faster scan times and the sharpest images on the market. Advanced MRI also began offering computed tomography images (CT scan) services in April 2005.
"I was honored to be asked to be the medical director for Advanced MRI of Escondido," explained Dr. Flores. She further noted that even with the state-of-the-art hardware being used by their highly-experienced MRI technologists, "I am able to use my MRI expertise to optimize image quality in order to produce some of the best images than on a comparably equipped MRI which does not have the benefit such radiologist interaction."
Dr. Flores was recently named director of Magnetic Resonance Imaging for North County Radiology and its affiliated imaging centers in 2004. She earned her B.S. in biological sciences from the University of California, Irvine. She received her medical degree from the University of Maryland, where she was junior AOA, graduating at the top of her class.
Dr. Flores completed a Diagnostic Radiology residency training at the University of California, San Francisco. She followed this with additional fellowship training in body and musculoskeletal MRI at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.
